Objetive: To put together a practical research team to investigate the transformation of educational spaces through participation, access to resources and DIY construction.
To innovate educational spaces through research, reuse and redesign.
REMOBLAR (“Refurbish”) is a group comprised of women from different backgrounds. We pool our knowledge and experiences in order to spark collaborative learning processes and to empower educational communities by facilitating the transformation of educational spaces through participation, access to resources and DIY construction.
We aim to conduct a joint investigation, analysing what educational spaces are like now versus how we would like them to be. We then look at what keeps us from transforming those spaces and what changes have already been carried out.
Through our platform at Remoblar.net, we continuously compile and share knowledge and documentation about the challenges posed by processes of transformation in educational spaces. We hope to adapt these processes and bring them in line with the pedagogical project that they seek to inspire.
The project is born out of the need to rethink spaces in schools in order to adapt them to new approaches to teaching and learning. The project is based on the premise that redesigning educational spaces makes it possible for us to create spaces for thought, cooperative work, personal development and to move towards more collaborative models.
We believe that it is important to involve the whole educational community (teachers, non-teaching staff, students, parents, neighbourhood residents, experts, etc.) in the process of transformation by creating collaborative learning processes through DIY construction and the reuse of materials. These processes create inclusive, intergenerational relationships of empowerment.
